The Online Heartsaver Bloodborne Pathogens is a web based, self directed program that is for anyone with a reasonable chance for occupational exposure to blood or blood-containing material.
This course will teach individuals about:
What bloodborne pathogens are and how they are spread
Protections from exposure and how to act if exposed
How to clean up after exposure
How to tell or report any exposure
Did you know that all medical offices handling blood and potentially infectious materials must comply with OSHA standard 29CFR1910.1030? This means that your office must not only provide initial training about bloodborne pathogens when an employee is hired, but should also provide annual training for each employee.
Combine this course with a site-specific training at your location to meet the Annual OSHA requirements for Bloodborne Pathogen training.
This course is designed for pre-hospital medical professionals and EMS personnel in acute medical practice. It consists of four interactive cases that lead participants through patient encounters in which patients are presented with potential stroke-related complaints.
