Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) is the leading cause of death every year in the United States. On average, about 325,000 Americans experience an out-of-hospital SCA during the calendar year. Of that number, only about 10 percent survive.
We are losing nearly 300,000 of our citizens every year to SCA, even though many of these people would live on if bystanders knew how to respond. In fact, studies show that when bystanders take action survival rates jump to 30%; we can do even better, so let’s do something about it!
